Apple Homepod 2nd generation

The Apple HomePod 2nd gen is not working properly after the iOS 18 update. It disconnects from YouTube after 3 to 4 seconds, but it works fine with Apple Music and Apple TV+. Changing the Wi-Fi network doesn't make a difference.

HomePod connection issues? I’ve had the second Gen HomePod for a couple months and while it sounds great, I keep having connection issues. Mainly between my iPhone and HomePod. The HomePod wifi has full bars, it’s the same network. I’m aware that you can unplug the device and restart your phone but that’s a pain! We shouldn’t have to do that nearly every day. What the HomePod really needs is a way to force connect it and not relying on it to automatically connect. I’m a bit let down by Apple. I expected a great, smooth experience. For the record: the HomePod works fine with voice, it’s the controlling it with my phone that’s the issue. I like to use the music player screen on my phone to skip music. After all, it’s easier to tap a button than to say “hey siri. Skip” several time. All of my devices are up to date too. I don’t know what else to do but I’m tired of this not working consistently. I expect consistency from Apple. Am I missing something? I’ve done most of the troubleshooting including factory resetting the HomePod. I keep hoping they’ll update it to fix this issue but they don’t.

Cannot connect to HomePod 1 I have been having issues with my HomePod 1 with it losing the connection to the internet. After trying many things in the end I did a full reset of it and since then I cannot connect to it at all. I have updated my phone and iPad to the latest iOS, done a hard reset of the HomePod numerous times and even removed it from the list bog devices associated with my Apple ID. I have tried changing my Wi-Fi settings and put the HomePod by my router and still nothing. Any other ideas before I give up for good?

Homepod Mini stops playing music randomly and wouldn't connect this morning When playing music from my phone to my Mini it will just randomly stop playing for about 30 seconds regularly throughout the day. My phone is right next to it and there's nothing wrong with my wifi. This morning it just wouldn't connect with my phone and I wasted half an hour troubleshooting. I am so disappointed with this purchase, being an Apple product and I'm a long term Apple supporter, I expected much better. I should have purchased another UE Boom as it never had a problem playing my music.
