Copying iTunes playlist to usb issues 2024

Nothing I've read about the procedure works. I want to copy an iTunes playlist comprised of several albums onto a usb drive. No matter what I do the songs do not copy in the order of the playlist. They copy as numbers...like number 1...from all three of the albums...not in the order I made. It seems it should be simpler than what I am experiencing. The only thing that has worked so far is to copy to the usb and then rename each and every song with an appropriate number. Note: I am using a Mac mini and not a PC. The PC answers do not work. Can anyone tell me how to do this with less work? Thanks
