How can I fix blank page in Pages app on my iPad?

Whilst using my iPad for pages it has been creating blank pages whilst I am writing a document, some are completely blank, some have little bits of what I have been writing. How do I stop this from happening?

my iPad seems to do this every time I am writing in a document, it doesn’t seem to matter whether I am connected to the WiFi or not, it still does it

Pages app crashing upon opening after update to IOS 18.2.1 using an iPad Pro 11 inch, second generation. Pages will open to the splash screen, but the app crashes immediately upon selection of any options or opening a previous document. Restarting does not solve the problem. In addition, when checking for new IOS updates, there returns a message that an error has occurred and that it can not check for a new update at this time.
