iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Unresponsive

Is anyone else noticing their iPhone 16 pro max being unresponsive sometimes when touching the screen, typing, swiping.

Im not even using a screen protector and it’s like it. Makes things seem really laggy sometimes.

Did not expect it on a brand new iPhone.

I have noticed typing on the keyboard sometimes just doesn’t register letters or the space bar. I took it to Apple, ran diagnostic tests and there wasn’t anything wrong. It is extremely laggy and doesn’t pick up key entries. Pls fix!

I know I've should have stayed with my iPhone 14 pro max. It was flawless and the screen response through plastic screen protector and glass protector. My iphone 16 pro with plastic, glass or no screen protector works like ****. its so annoying that the screen response to touch is HORRIBLE,

APPLE; please come up with resolution. I'm about had it with this new phone.

It’s not the apps even signing into this website has been difficult I have 2 phones there’s no issue with those running with the same software. Same apps same software updates on apps it’s same with texting using iMessage it’s operating like a very bad third party screen and I have been fixing phones for the last 15 years there’s some kind of issue which needs fixed quickly.

You are the only person in this thread who is speaking otherwise, it is a genuine problem which apple is not able to figure out/apple support is not able to help. People who have gotten replacement units are still suffering from it.

Repeating the same thing over is not helping anyone.

No he's not. I have commented that I have absolutely no touch issues on either our 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max. There are several in my office with 16 Pro's and none of them are having any touch issues. I know several other people who own iPhone 16 Pro models and they have no touch issues.

That doesn't mean you don't have touch issues, but there are likely more who don't than who do. What is causing the touch issue, needs to be figured out, which we can't do as we are all users on this user to user only forum.

I think I figured out what’s causing it.

if your finger is at all on the new photo button, the phone isn’t sure whether you’re doing something with the photo button, which is touch sensitive or touching the screen so you have to make sure that your grip is not at all impeding the photo button and you should be better it’s still not completely healed for me, but it’s much much better when I make sure I’m not touching that Hope this helps.

I’ve had the iPhone 16 pro max natural 256 for about 3 weeks now and I’ve noticed the same issue since day 1. I was hoping update 18.2.1 would fix this but I'm still experiencing this issue. It’s random and usually when touching the corners of the screen. It happens with and without a screen protector so I know it’s not that. Has anyone fixed this issue?

So, should I contact Enphase as well, as their enlighten app calendar left button is in a similar distance from the edge of the screen and is unresponsive as well. Works fine on iphone 12 pro max, same distance from the edge of the screen?

If you have a touch issue which is only happening in some 3rd party apps, yes, contact the App Developers of those apps. Apple has no control over 3rd party applications.

Because I mostly use WhatsApp.
I heard from colleagues that they experienced a similar issue on Facebook and Messenger.

And what do all three have in common? They are all apps from Meta. And they have notoriously had issues for a long time. But Apple doesn't own Meta, so Apple can't fix their apps. Meta has to fix their apps. You should definitely complain to Meta.

My iPhone 16 Max pro screen today went blank and completely unresponsive. It just wouldn’t work and I was trying to Apple Pay a bill. So I tried to reboot the phone and accidentally called emergency services, so not only could I not pay the bill but I nearly called the police to the restaurant!! I hope Apple fixes the unresponsive screen issue soon :-)
