On waking from sleep my Mac (using Sequoia) always switches to a specific desktop space

Since upgrading to Mac OS Sequoia I have found my Mac Studi has always switched to a different desktop 'space'. This is always 'SPACE' eight. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Sleep/Waking Up on Mac OS Ventura I am having a strange problem on my new iMac running Ventura 13.2.1 having to do with the SLEEP command. I'm sure it is a toggle command I have not been able to find. When I put the iMac to SLEEP, it goes to sleep correctly BUT within 15-20 minutes, it goes back up again. The idea is when I want it to SLEEP, it should sleep the entire night and in the morning I hit the space bar, and the Mac wakes up. That is not happening. I've had to shut it down so I can [myself] sleep thru the night without being awakened. Can someone help me? Thanks
