Since installing Sequoia OS yesterday my computer is freezing and I cannot use calendar app - any suggestions on how to fix or uninstall and revert back to my old OS?

I posted a week or two ago with the same issue. A few days later i gave in and chatted with apple support, which escalated 3 times until a senior tech called me to work through the issue. Long story short, everything she offered and tried did not work and she was surprised and said she had not seen this before (even though I told her many people in the discussion group were posting with a similar experience). The next day, though, I figured out a fix myself.
Problem: If I launched Mac Calendar on Sequoia 15.2, wheel starts spinning immediately, then about a minute later error message that my mac is running out of application memory. From the list of applications, the calendar is taking 150GB and the number keeps climbing. Only option is to force quit the Calendar.
TLDR -- Solution that did work was:
1) Launch Mac email
2) Click Mail/Accounts. For each account that has calendar activated, disable the Calendar. Even if it says it will delete that calendar from your Mac.
3) Once you're done disabling all calendars accounts, launch Calendar App. That's the first time in a couple weeks it did not require a force quit, because it's not trying to launch and sync any accounts.
4) Now go to Calendar/Accounts, and add one account at a time. When I tried to add all of them, it hung again. My regular huge gmail file (a couple decades worth) loaded fine. That game me hope. My business account loaded fine, so 2 main accounts were working.
5) When I activate my Contacts calendar account (which syncs all the birthdays in contacts so it shows up in the calendar days), it hung and needed a force quit.
No idea how to fix that file, but for now I've just disabled that sync and my calendar app is working again.
Things that did not work that tech support tried with me:
-- disabling icloud sync
-- creating a test user and seeing if calendar app worked (it did)
-- logging in in safe mode a couple times
-- multiple reboots
-- finally, re-installing the OS, still did not work

Were you able to reactivate the google calendar? I don't really use Icloud for calendars, only google since its linked to gmail. Most folks likely do this.
Same here. 15.1 apparently fixed it.

As far as I can tell it is unique to icalendar. I have had to force quit each time and am unable to edit any calendar items or even add any. It just freezes and spins. Rebooted and worked with Apple to check disk repair to no avail.
Same here, Sequoia upgrade broke my MacOS calendar. I’m not using any 3rd party calendar integrations just the native Apple app. I have iCloud calendars and Goggle calendars synced to it, nothing fancy. App still opens on weekly view but when I try to scroll to the next week the app freezes up, the beach ball runs for a few sec then the app quits and I get the black terminal window type message about a critical error. APPLE, please fix this asap !!!!!

Me too. Adding my experiences so Apple devs can troubleshoot this. I have multiple connected calendars including Exchange and iCloud. Everything worked as expected before Sequoia, reliably and consistently. After Sequoia the following happens consistently: 1) invites takes a very long time to appear in the calendar (like an hour), 2) it is virtually impossible to add a new meeting manually to the calendar. Edits show in the meeting but do not move to the calendar view, including the event name, the selected calendar color, etc., 3) when editing an existing meeting the app freezes until the edits are discarded or the meeting being edited is deleted.
It did work .... initially. Tried closing the app and re-booting you Mac since ? when I did that, I was back to square one, "crash city". APPLE: this is a bit embarrassing for you, please fix this !!!
Following, same my iCal is completely messed up, declined or deleted invites wont go away and have a "read only" at the bottom, those invites will not delete. I have installed and re-installed the account it is linked to and cannot get the calendar to sync since installing Sequoia.
It believe it is happening for me with all of the apps syncing to iCloud. I launch them, and as they start up, I almost immediately get the beachball, which ultimately leads to (not responding) and having to force quit.
Calendar freezes immediately upon attempting to edit an entry, regardless of which calendar event is on. Closing all calendars and trying to create a New Event also crashes Calendar. I also noticed that when I Force Quit Calendar, the system no longer presents me with the option to report the issue.
I have been able to add & edit all the events I need USING MY iPHONE. The changes and new events show up on my Mac, but I still cannot edit them. I have an older iMac (27-inch, Late 2013, macOS 10.15.7 (19H2026)), which also syncs with iCloud. There are ZERO problems with Calendar on that machine. This is only happening on my MacBook Pro.
Same here. Calendar app starting crashing yesterday and now crashes immediately, system says it is using 142 GB of memory! Screenshot below. Just tried updated to 15.2, turned off icloud for calendar. No dice. I can't even open it long enough to delete calendars or changes calendar settings. Any suggestions?
I have been using Apple Calendar on Mac for more than 10 years and have never had a problem with it syncing 5 calendars between iCloud and Google ones.
I installed Sequoia 15.1.1 and some days ago updated to 15.2. Today I tried to do something so simple as create an event on an iCloud calendar and the app just froze. Force quit / restart / nothing helps.
I have read the different solutions offered by other posters. Something is very clear to me:
macOS Sequoia and iOS 18 have been THE WORST upgrades ever to be produced by Apple. The number of bugs is unreliable, the so-called “improvements” to apps that were working perfectly fine, and that no-one was asking to change is just atrocious. Apps on iOS like the torch and Photos received updates that degraded them 10 years into the past.
The days of “It just works” are so long gone! I don't understand what the people working today at Apple are doing to the company. The user experience has gone downhill due to the terrible QC of the software on these last OS updates.
Sequoia latest update 15.2 has broken my calendar. All recurring calendar events do not alert. I can only get a new event to alert if i create it to go off some time more than 10 mins in the future. If i create a new event 5 mins in the future, that doesn't alert
