iOS 18 how to "Show as" "Busy/Free" in shared appointments?

In prior versions of iOS, you could designate a new or edited shared appointment as "Free" or "Busy" in the "show as" field. There appears to be no such field in the new iOS, nor in MacOS 15. Did this feature go away? When our family has shared appointments, they just need to show up in the calendar, and not mess up the free/busy of our working family members. This keeps people from being able to schedule appointments with them via Calendly and other Calendar apps in addition to Apple Calendar. Help???

This is a serious miss in Calendar. It’s a beautiful app, but this is a bread and butter feature that has been missing on the Mac and is now gone from iOS. I’ve been using Calengoo for a decade because it has so many more features and customizations, however only Calendar has travel time, so I use it on my Mac. This feature gap is really frustrating. Google & MS have had it for years.

I keep updating my IOS in the hope that this will be fixed, but nothing so far.

Assume no one has found a solution. At this rate I'm going to have to change my calendar provider. I like ical and would like to continue using it, but no longer having this very basic, but valuable feature means it is now unusable for me as I can't get it to work with my work booking calendar.

After speaking with a couple of advisers at Apple Support, they confirmed that this feature is missing in iOS 18, except for any non-iCloud calendars. It's still there for those calendars (I checked on my phone and it's true for me).

The senior adviser said there is no reason for this, and it is likely an oversight/glitch. Anyone interested in getting this feature back can go here to give feedback: Feedback - Calendar - Apple
