How do I delete files from an external drive that has files saved on it from an old windows computer?

I have a Lacie external hard drive that I saved files on from an old windows computer. I am able to open the drive and view all of the files just fine. However, I'm able to delete anything. I don't want to delete the whole drive. I just want to clean up the drive and still save most of the files.
