Software update issues with macOS Sequoia

I have updated to XCode 16 with MacOS Sequoia. Run with no issue on my MBP M1 16 GB and 1TB SDD

Apart screen flickering and memory leaks on Finder I didn't encountered any other issue on Sequoia.

SOLUTIONS!

1- Trun of "Find My" in settings...

2- Then Update.......works fine.....cheer-up...

After updating to Sequoia I am having issues accessing my local network NAS device. I'm able to access the internet, but connecting to my local devices have become extremely slow. It can take up to 2 min for the NAS connection to be successful. I never experienced any of this until the update.

I removed the network adaptor and re-added it, and it worked for about 20 min. I changed out cables, verify router / switch firmware.

Thanks, I can agree the line maybe caused from panel, line problem is started today. But what is wrong with Safari? After the update, only safari window is flickering. It is like switching between windows. Even replying this answer is hard. While texting it is kinda switching the safari window with something else and some word is not prompting. I am now having this problem with other browsers. Btw it is Mabcbook Air M1 2021 (Dec)

A couple of things, it's not my phone which also has VPN and is on a different operating system, even after last update NO ISSUE. My MacBook pro with Sequoia 15 update has a whole lot of issues which I thought initially I could fix, didn't work out. Thanks for your suggestions on other forms of privacy and thoughts, perhaps they will help someone with those issues.

My users are experiencing issues with the internet and firewall after the macOS Sequoia update. Unfortunately, version 15.0.1 did not resolve these problems.

Is anyone else encountering similar issues?

2. Finder issue: Random folders open instead of the one clicked.

3. Applications keep shutting down: Adobe Illustrator keeps asking to save files even after they've been saved.

4. Keyboard issue: Lowercase letters change to uppercase in the middle of typing, even when Caps Lock is off.

5. Application issue (Gmail, Outlook, company chat): Clicking buttons opens new windows, prevents moving to the next step, window stops responding, can't scroll.

The fact that you are having those issues doesn't mean that everyone or even most people with Sequoia are. In fact, most people aren't.

These issues are affecting workflow, and it feels like the system might be compromised. Immediate fix needed.

Okay, what troubleshooting steps have you taken yourself? What did Apple say when you contacted them to evaluate the issues?

My daughter started the update to Sequoia on her four year old MacBook Pro only to have the installation fail and freeze her computer. After numerous attempts to do an install in Recovery Mode, it did install but would not load once the computer was restarted. I had to wipe her hard drive, activate recovery mode from the internet and install the original MacOS that came with the system (Catalina). It wanted me to update back to Sequoia, which I didn't do. I have her computer back up and running on Sonoma with no issues.

Too many bugs for an update for my liking. Took most of the day to do this.

The Sequoia update has basically bricked every Apple native app on my iMac. It is not just Safari, it is also Mail, Music, Photos, etc... The only native apps that still work are Notes and Calculator. I guess the ones that don't connect to the internet.

Apple please fix ASAP!!! Either that or give us an easy way to revert back to a OS that works.

Should have remembered your advice James. 15.1 is a complete mess. Won't recognize my external monitor, my external speakers and changed a bunch of presets I had set in 15.0. Wished I'd never upgraded.

Mac Mini M4 Sequoia has many issues. This is the first time Mac gave me problems.

Printer Issues: After replacing the ink in Epson printer, the Mac Mini M4 still wouldn't detect the printer's status correctly. After removed the printer in Sequoia, and added it back to get it to work. I even bought HP Laser. Found another problem. Sequoia won't scan pdf document from the printer to Mac Mini.

PDF Problems: The Page won't open PDF files. Intel Mac never have any issues with pdf or pinrter. I installed LibreOffifce. After edited a PDF in LibreOffice, converted it to ODT, then exported to PDF. I thought I can keep MacMini and it solved pdf issues. After opened PDF, it is garbage text. (smeared and unreadable).

VMware Fusion Compatibility: After installed VMware Fusion, it shows blank media.

While the M processor is great for gaming and video editing, it is lacking for business-related tasks like handling PDFs, printers, and virtualization.

In the end, I return the Mac Mini and purchase a Lenovo Ideapad with an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD for just $499 (on sale from $859). The Lenovo is running smoothly without the issues.

While I am not a fan of Windows 11, the Lenovo’s performance and reliability made it the better choice for my work, especially compared to the Mac's problems.
