Ask to buy notifications not being receieved

The ask to buy notifications are suddenly not coming through on my phone or my husbands. We have family sharing . My child requested to download an app on Friday and it worked, now it has stopped. He can no longer download or buy anything and it is very frustrating. I can’t turn off ask to buy as he is under 13. I have re- started both the iPad and my iPhone and that hasn’t worked. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thank you
