Stop using family sharing button not working

I’m trying to disband a family sharing account I setup ages ago so I can join a new one. I’m the only member of the account. However when I click on the ‘Stop using family sharing’ button in Settings on my device, I get another dialogue box asking again if I want to ‘Stop using family sharing’, and when I again click on this, nothing happens at all. So the old family account is still there undeleted, and I can’t accept the invite to join the new one.

I can’t see any threads that resolve this issue?
