external hard drive I have a LaCie portable hard drive - unused. When I connect it to either my Macbook or iMac it does not show in finder sidebar although I can see it when I look at disk utility . Have tried going to Finder preferences but toggling on/off for external hard drive makes no difference

In monterey, on the desktop, i can see the hard drive information under the icon, but it disappeared under Ventura. Is there a work around to see the information under the icon without having to right click and click on get info? Not all external drive partitions showing on desktop in Ventura All partitions of two external drives show up in Disk Utility (two partitions each; 4 partitions total). "External disks" are set to show in Finder Settings. But only two partitions (only one from each external drive) appear on the desktop. Cannot find any Settings nor Preferences which would cause this. iMac, Retina 4k, 21.5-inch, 2017 running Ventura 13.0.1

Choose Settings from the Finder menu, click on Sidebar, and check the box for it.
