iCloud Storage and Family Sharing…

Hi all,

As a family we have iCloud One with 200gb of iCloud Storage, only 72gb currently in use (part me and part my son). My other half is in the Family Sharing but doesn’t appear to be using any of the AppleOne storage.

For some years (since before AppleOne) she has had a separate 50gb allowance on iCloud Storage, and has just filled that so is being told she needs to upgrade/buy more… but she is in the Family Sharing so should be able to use the 128gb AppleOne allowance that is not being used?

So we are currently paying for both FamilyOne and iCloud 50gb, when we could ideally be fine just using the FamilyOne storage. Our concern is if she cancelled her iCloud 50gb subscription would she lose her photos/media? This worry is why we simply haven’t cancelled the extra 0.99 a month since starting AppleOne - but now that she has filled the 50gb the question has arisen once more…

What is the best course of action?

In FamilySharing on an iOS/iPadOS device her email address is listed as @me.com but the invoices for her iCloud Storage show her account as @icloud.com. When I try inviting her to the FamilySharing as @icloud.com it says she is in the FamilySharing already (so that should not be the issue).
