Upgraded to ipadOS 15.8.3. Running Catalina 10.15.7 on a MacBookPro. iPad will not display in finder.
Have tried all steps on the website to get ipad to mount. Have changed cables 3x. iPad will not charge from laptop, will not appear in finder. Sidebar has disappeared as well

I am having a similar issue. I'm running iPadOS 17.6.1 and macOS 14.6.1. When I connect my iPad mini via usb c it shows up briefly in Finder then disappears. I've tried the above troubleshooting and nothing works.
Actually, I missed the part in step 6 If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support about resetting the Location & Privacy Settings on the iPad. That resolved my issue.
