Guitar interface won't work in GarageBand but does in Bandlab

I am using the Behringer UCG102 Guitar Link in GarageBand and the sound from my guitar does not come through properly. I have turned monitoring on however I can only hear few sounds coming from the guitar and it is very intermittent output. The guitar interface seems to work fine in Bandlab (another DAW) so I am confused as to why it doesn't work in GarageBand.
