FaceTime Glitch

Over the past year I have had several instances where I’ve tried FaceTiming my girlfriend but a stranger picks up. It’s a different person each time and every time they hang up after one second without saying anything. When I call after or have my girlfriend call me, I get connected correctly. This is extremely disturbing. What may be going on here and how do I stop this from happening again?
