unable to connect homepod to macmini

I have a macmini i use at work. It is hardwired to an ethernet connection. Though there is a wifi connection availability the signal is quite weak. I purchased a homepod to improve sound on my speaker. I have been unable to have the homepod recognize the macmini. I realize the cable is purely a power source. Are there step by step instructions on how to connect he homepod to the macmini perhaps with a bluetooth connection? If i've not explained myself well, you may need to talk me through to provide improved details.
