No audio out on Garage Band no “Audio core abailable”

Have an older version of Garage band. I have not used it very often in a couple of years. My interface is a focusrite Sonic i6i6. When I try to record on anything other than the computer’s built in mic and speaker I get the “Audio Core is not available message”. I have gone into GB Preferances and made sure I am using the sonic as inputs. Thanks
