Music not transferring to ipod touch 7th gen

So i bought an ipod touch 7th gen right before Apple discontinued it but now i try to put music on it via Itunes but for some reason it just doesnt transfer . I would right click my song ,press add to device ,select my ipod and then it just does nothing . Is it just me or do any of you have the same problem
