I am not able to make direct FaceTime calls using my iPhone 15

I am not able to make direct FaceTime calls using my iPhone 15 to my friends and family who too are having iPhones (NOT ANDROID OR OTHER PHONES). Either it says create Link or Invite via Message. I have never faced this issue in any of my earlier iPhones.
