iMac 2019 audio output delayed when using GarageBand instruments

Hi , I have Edifier 1280 DBs speaker connected to my 2019 iMac Ventura 13.6.1.

It is currently working fine via Bluetooth playback but has a delay when using Garageband instruments.

I have tried using a USB 3 to RCA directly to the speakers input but I can not get it to connect without using Bluetooth. Am I missing something obvious?, grateful for any advice
