HomePod update listening history is OFF but songs still show in MY "recently played" songs

I've had this issue for YEARS and I'm so sick of it... I've disabled "update listening history" in the Home app for all my HomePods, but if my wife plays asks the HomePods to play something, it always shows up in MY Apple Music app in the "recently played" section. We've even moved recently, deleted the old home from the Home app, factory restored ALL the HomePods and set up a new Home in the Home app, and the same exact issue persists. I'm getting extremely sick of Apple products getting worse and worse over the years. I'm am way less passionate about these things. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated....
