My text recipients gets gibberish message

So my family member texting me this morning and I received the message just fine then I got back to him and instead of receiving what I sent, he received "hsthsjks"

I texted other people then message them on other app and all my text message are not being received normally. They're all receiving gibberish stuff

Since 6th March Messages being sent as SMS not iMessage to 1 Family member I have an iPhone XR (iOS 18.3.2) and one of my Family members has a larger iPhone XR (iOS 18.0). Since the 6th March, all messages to them, have been sent to via SMS rather than iMessage (Green bubble) / Message area has in it's background "Text Message - SMS". When sending to other Family members, I see "iMessage" in faint grey in the message input box. - though they have a more recent iPhone. The iOS 18 release seems to have removed the specific Disable SMS/MMS Messaging: Go to Settings > Messages. Toggle off Send as SMS and MMS Messaging. And this is nowhere to be found. Any idea what's wrong ? And how to fix it ?

Not Receiving Texts from Family Member (and vice versa) My teen and I both have iPhones, and use the same provider. Periodically over the past year or so, one or both of us have not been receiving the other's texts. Sometimes, if we reboot our phones, the problem resolves only to crop back up for no apparent reason. It's frustrating but also pretty important that we're able to communicate with each other. Any troubleshooting ideas out there?
