I have a couple of old files I would like to convert in to another codec. Only VLC wil play it. It is no longer recognized by Adobe,FCPX, Quicktime. It is a Motion JPEG B codec. Can someone help me out?

(VLC for Mac does not support MP4).
I don’t know why you would say that. I play .mp4 files in VLC at least weekly.
You can directly use VLC to convert your old files to M4V (VLC for Mac does not support MP4).
Sorry for the inaccuracy. I mean, on the Mac version of VLC, people can only convert the video to M4V and not MP4. At least in my tests.
