How do I retrieve a recently deleted photo?

I recently deleted a photo I want to retrieve

in Photos, if you are looking at your Camera Roll or All Photos, tap the top of the screen where it says "<Albums". Then scroll to the bottom of the list of albums and tap on "Recently Deleted". Deleted photos stay there for 30 days.


If you actively delete a picture from the "Recently Deleted" album, it's gone for good, even if you're using iCloud Photos.


Btw, in the Books app, you can search for "iPhone User Guide" (and include your iOS number) to find a free Apple guide for all this kind of stuff.
