You generally need at least 1.5 times the amount of space on your phone as the size of the update. The update has to be downloaded and then unpacked. That takes up more space than the update itself.

If you absolutely can't free up more space on your phone, try updating it using your computer. When you do it that way, the unpacking part is done on the computer so you can get by wilt less space on the phone.
