I am unable to open my iMovie in Quick Time Player!

I made an Imovie and exported and shared to my desktop. Now when. try to use quck time to view my Imovie I get ths message:


I receive this message Memorial Video Carmelita.mp4” cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. I am trying to open my Imovie in quick time player!! I have done ths countless times. What is wrong?

Hi,


Try putting the vid on your desktop and control-clicking on it. From the pop up menu that appears, click on Encode Selected Assets. Choose your desired settings from the options that appear and then encode the video. You will get a separately encoded video with the original remaining intact. See if you can open the encoded video.

Try converting it with the free download, Handbrake. Handbrake will convert it to an H.264, Mp4/AAC file that is compatible with iMovie.

A simple way to do it is to open Handbrake and do a File/Open Source. Navigate to your video and choose it as the source from the resulting screen. Then do File/Start Encoding. Wait a couple of minutes for the conversion to

complete. Then save and import the converted clip into iMovie.
