I had this problem.
It was caused by either having too many apps or Safari tabs open, or some particular tabs/websites open in Safari.
As soon as I closed all unnecessary apps, including my Safari which had several hundred tabs open, the problem went away.
There are no replies.
Sound input volume way too low when recording with Quicktime.
