Can a water-damaged iPod be fixed after 10 Years?

Hello-Years ago, I dropped my iPod classic in the pool. I put it quickly into a bowl of rice and luckily, it started working again. Well, I dropped it into the pool a second time, again put it into rice, but this time, it did not work. That was maybe 10 years ago. I found the iPod recently and at first when I tried charging it, I could hear a ticking sound. Now, nothing. Can this iPod be made to work again? Thanks for any info.
