Help! USB ports glitch after OS 13.6.7 upgrade

Two days ago I updated my iMac 27 to OS Ventura 13.6.7, and my iMac has not been the same. It randomly freezes and now, at least seven or eight times in the last 24 hours, the USB ports suddenly stop working (the

Magie Trackpad II stops as well).

My connected external drives give me the message that they have not been properly removed, and the keyboard stops responding. When this happens, I have no other remedy but to use the power switch to do a forced shutdown. When I press the button it brings up the "Are you sure ... " screen - indicating to me that there is no other issue except that the ports have stop responding.

This is obviously a glitch in Ventura 13.6.7. Please address it quickly, as this is maddening. It actually happened as I was composing this post, so I'm on my laptop right now.

Yes, my mistake. Ventura.

I reinstalled the OS after starting in Recovery mode, and the problem has not repeated itself. Based on that, the only thing I can conclude is that I encountered some type of install glitch the first time

Actually, the 2017 iMac can't upgrade to Sonoma. Ventura is the latest system it can run. The 2020 iMac can upgrade to Sonoma. Which do you have?

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Try the following: download and run Etrecheck

Copy the report

and use the Additional Text button to paste the report in your reply.

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine the cause of the problem.
