iPad pro 11 inch face ID NOT working....

I just received The new 2024 iPad pro 11 inch , 2 days ago -- face ID refused to set up . It has been an annoying waste of time .

I have set up face id on several apple products before (always very quick and smooth)- it was never this frustrating compared to this iPad pro.

Apple, what is the issue?
