iPhone is not recognizing my home Wi-Fi as a familiar location

I previously set up the stolen device protection on my phone with the option “away from familiar locations “. When attempting to make security type changes from my home WiFi, the 1 hr time starts, stating that I am not in a familiar location. Not certain if the original setting was done at home and wondering if this makes the difference.

Make sure your card in Contacts has your home address set, and then make sure the Home location set in Apple Maps is adjusted and matches your home location. That cleared up the problem here.

Familiar locations have nothing to do with Wi-Fi. iOS uses some magical process to recognize a familiar location, based on how often and for how long each day you are in that location. Until it completes this process you will have to wait an hour to turn off stolen device protection. And also make sure you have familiar locations enabled i the Stolen Device Protection settings.

How do I put this on my Cash App this card

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking here, but it doesn’t seem related to Wi-Fi familiar locations being discussed in this thread.

For assistance with a third-party Cash App, contact the app vendor.

If the recipient has an Apple device and meets the requirements, you can send money via Apple Cash:

If you are trying to transfer an Apple Gift Card balance to somebody else, that generally isn’t an option.
