External LG monitor turning off via USB C after upgrade to MacOS 14.4.1 Sonoma

  • I'm using a MacBook Pro (Apple M1 Pro) with an Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter with the HDMI lead attached to an LG monitor 27UL550-W. (The adapter uses the thunderbolt port)
  • The OS is MacOS 14.4.1 Sonoma and the issues have come since updating to it
  • Intermittently the monitor turns itself off displaying the message: No signal. Entering power saving mode shortly
  • Prevent auto sleeping is On and Wake for network access is set to Never

Lock screen options are set to Never

LG Monitor settings

  • Input List: HDMI 1
  • Smart Energy Saving: Off
  • Power LED: Off
  • Automatic Standby: Never

I've tried

  • Changing the cable
  • Putting the adapter in the right port
  • Resetting the PRAM
  • Unplugging everything.

The monitor worked fine before the upgrade to MacOS 14.4.1 Sonoma. Any help much appreciated.
