Hello,

With any new version of iOS there are always maintenance and re-indexing tasks to be performed. It should settle down in a few days. These are the standard steps for short battery life:

1) Have you tried a restart?  If not, do it now.

2) Go to Settings > Battery > BATTERY USAGE BY APP to see the apps that are consuming your battery.

3) Check “Battery Health” in the link:

iPhone Battery and Performance

4) If all else fails, consider a battery replacement:

iPhone Battery Service

Also see: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold

Good luck.

Thank you for the breakdown. My son has this same issue. He has an iPhone 14 Pro and as soon as it updated to 17.4, the battery started dropping from 100 to like 20. And then eventually dying.

At the Genius bar right now and they are saying the battery is swelling. There are multiple people here facing the same issue. How annoying it this?? Have a new phone and the auto updates are killing the battery life of our phones.
