iPhone unavailable

iPhone 11 I was busy in the garage. I came in and my iPhone had IPhone unavailable. I had not tried to enter my password, I use face recognition but I hadn’t even touched the phone! Is that the only reason the iPhone unavailable message displays? That would mean someone was messing with my phone while I was in the garage!

I know my passcode, and I mostly use face id anyway. But this time, and past times also, the phone was in my pocket. I used it before I put it in my pocket. No problem. Then I take it out of my pocket 20 minutes later, and "iPhone unavailable". I'm not interested in erasing my phone, and I can wait. This time. But I can imagine a situation where using my phone would be critical, although no an emergency. What is going on? Why is this happening? I have a 14pro running 16.2.

iPhone unavailable My iPhone XR has suddenly locked me out with the iPone unavailable message. But I have not had ANY attempts at signing in with the passcode. I routinel sign in, as do most people I imagine, with FaceID. I moved to ios 15.6 a week or so back. Is this a known bug in this release? I'm currently trying to recover the phone even if that deletes everything. I should have a recent nck-up on iCloud, unless that stopped working too. I need thi phone to control my cochlear implants, without which I am totally deaf, so this is a tad inconvenient.

iPhone Unavailable If my iPhone has been in my pocket, I sometimes get "iPhone Unavailable Try again in XX minutes" messages. I understand that this message should appear if I enter too many wrong passcodes. I didn't enter any passcodes. Is my phone bouncing around enough to think a passcode is entered when the screen is bumped? Is there a way to turn this "feature" off? I overextended myself yesterday on a hike. I wanted to call my wife to ask her to make a delivery I was scheduled to make. I had to wait 29 minutes. If I hit the "emergency" button, does that call 911?
