Chirp audiobooks no longer play on Safari 17.4

I have been playing audiobooks that I bought from Chirp for years on chirpbooks.com, via Safari. However, with the new update 17.4, my almost 100 audiobooks in Chirpbooks.com no longer play.

I have spoken to 3 Apple Support people and no one can find the problem. Audible plays with no problems on Safari.

The odd thing is that Chirp plays just fine on Edge and Firefox.

What is in the new Safari update that precludes Chirp from playing my audiobooks?

Mac Studio, macOS 14.4

I can't pinpoint whether it is the update, since enough time has passed between me listening to Chirp and the update, but for some reason, my Chirp library won't play on Safari any longer. Would really like to get to the bottom of why this has happened, so hoping some experts can chime in.
