Videos are now stored in "Photos"; how to transfer clips to iMovie

I now have an Apple 24" computer running Ventura. Previously all my material was sent to iMovie. Every shot, video or still now goes to "Photos" I have managed to select clips to an album in "Photos", but I'm unable to find information on how to transfer them.

Any helpful information would be much appreciated!

If your photos are stored in the Photos app library that is designated as the system Photo Library, then you can access the photos from the iMovie project My Media sidebar by clicking on the Photos library item.

Another way is to export the photos from the Photos app to your desktop and from there drag them into the timeline of an iMovie project, or into an Event. To export from the Photos app, select the photos in the photos app library that you want to export, and do a File/Export Photo. Designate your desktop as the designated location.
