iMovie for Monterrey 12.7.4?

Can i Movie 10.4 be downloaded from app store? My Mac desktop is updated to Monterrey 12.7.4. I understand that the most current version of iMovie will require macOS 13.5 but my Mac desktop will not run MacOS 13.5. I see recommendation to use older version of iMovie so which version is compatible with Mac OS 12.7.4? Where can I get it? The only version I find on App store is th most current and I get response that states it requires Mac OS 13.5.

iMac, macOS 10.12

Same problem here -- the old version that was already on this computer wouldn't run and it prompted me to download a newer version. This iMac won't run OS 13.5, and App Store won't let me download any older versions of iMovie...come on, Apple!!!! Really?? This is a perfectly good iMac that is still fast enough with plenty of memory...are you really trying to force me out of using it?

Thanks for the response. Please allow me to clarify. In trying to upgrade, I did not see a version available for my OS12.7.4. I then read someone suggesting to uninstall what was on my Mac in order to allow a clean install. To begin with, I inherited this Mac and the iMovie icon had the Red circle with a slash over the icon which suggested not available. Being that I don't possess the Apple ID from first owner of this Mac, I can't log in to the App store and retrieve the original. The only related items I find in the app store are updates for iMovie 10.4. So is there an original to purchase in full? Thanks again, Craig B.
