That said, I hope you had a good technical reason to turn off FindMe.

Doing so has seriously negative security implications, and YOU are effectively the only user it hides the phone from.

Same problem here. Not the screen shot show a faded out "find my iPhone".

Noticed when I started to trade my iPhone 12 in for a new model.

I'm thinking this may be a bug in iOS 17.4.

Two questions:

1) What happens when you try?

2) Why do you think that you want to do so?

(Doing so has seriously negative security consequences and you’ll only be hiding the phone from yourself)

Turning off stolen device protection solved the problem.
