Where are the files stored when importing photos on a mac ? I can't find the file location and I would like to know where they are so I can move them onto my backup drive. I’ve looked at the photos->general info to get the location but it never shows me where they are.
Would like to understand Apple’s really convoluted filing system for photos. Windows is so much simpler!!

If you transfer photos directly to your Mac, without using iCloud Photos, you can choose the location.

Could you please explain more how you imported the photos? Did you use AirDrop, because if so, they should be in Downloads. If you used the photos app to import via external storage / media, you should be able to literally drag and drop from the photos app to your preferred storage location.
