Is this just on one site that you are having this problem? The 404 error is common when the link to the site no longer points to the location where the page is. It is not a communication error as the site has received your request, but does not have the page to show you, or restricts access to the page, so it will show the 404 not found message.

Apple suggest trying a different network, either WiFi or Cellular and also doing this:

Turn off your device and turn it on again.
Clear website data
You can clear website data occasionally to improve Safari performance.

If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Hi. No it’s all websites. It’s weird cause they load initially and then all of a sudden the page goes dead and gives me a 404 error
Ive tried that also but no luck. I just loaded this page then after about 10 seconds the page just dropped out and said 410 gone.
No VPN installed.
I only have a Webroot extension on but it’s been on previous to these issues occurring.
The Apple link worked but then the page collapsed as per the attached screenshot.
Even though you had WebRoot installed previously, I think you should remove/disable the extension, to test. Also verify that any content blocker is shut off at Settings > Safari > Content Blocker, if you have that setting. After doing that I would restart. Also a review of the app in the App Store on Feb 3 states: "In the last few days Webroot's safari extensions started to auto-redirect valid web pages to some undefined link of the same domain...". That sounds familiar to what you are experiencing.

Do you have any Extensions at Settings > Safari > Extensions?
Does it happen only when connected to your WiFi router?
Try shutting off WiFi and see if you get the same results using Cellular Data.
Yeah happens on cellular also. So weird. It’s never done this before.
I have disabled the Webroot extension and it appears as though that’s worked. I should report that to them. Thanks for your help.
