Perfect shapes doesn’t work in Books app on iPad

After the last update to iPadOS 17.4,1 (I don’t know what version I was previously using) This feature is no longer available and it is a huge problem for me since I had been using it daily to study… I don’t understand why apple would remove such feature… Yes I can use the ruler for the straight highlighting and lines, but this doesn’t make any sense because it still works perfectly on other native apps such as freeform for example.

Mine doesn't work either. What's wrong with it?

The same here since then and the problem continues with IpadOS 17.5
