Airdrop stuck on waiting on iphone 11

While I was airdropping a file today I accidentally clicked the “x” on the dialogue popup on my m2 14” mbp asking to accept or decline the incoming file. When I tried to airdrop it again it got stuck on “preparing…”. I’ve tried hard resetting both the phone and the mbp, turning off and then on wifi and bluetooth on both devices, I even tried to airdrop it to another device, iphone, ipad, it doesn’t matter, it gets stuck at “preparing”. Anyone had similar issue before? Any help or input would be much appreciated!

iPhone X, iOS 16

this is not a fix but a work around unti you figure out the problem ...if you figure it out let me know...

seelect the video you want to sen in. photos and hit the share button

next click options at the top of the pop up menu

scroll down and turn "all phots data" to ON

clic done in the top right and then click the airdrop icon to send t your devic and it should work.

if it doesnt send, reboot into safe mode by restarting and holding the leftshift key down until you see the login screen. air drop works almost always when in safe mode. like i ssaid this is a work around not a fix.

Thanks for this tip, will be sure to try it next time I run into the same issue. I actually worked around it by connecting the iphone to my mbp and then manually adding the file to my photos app on my mbp and THEN export it to my hard drive. It was a crazy detour but in the end it worked. Then the airdrop feature just magically fixed itself after a few weeks… go figure… 🤣🤣🤣
