HP AirPrint enabled printer won't print photo

Can't print photos from iPhone 14 Pro since Apple IOS update 17.0. I can AirPrint everything else, just not a photo. I had zero trouble before the 17.0 update but iPhone friends have the same exact problem. I have just installed 17.3 and still no printing photos. I have no trouble with an iPad that has 16.8 or an iPhone that has 16.8 so I know that it is an IOS update issue.

So... the only workaround is to download HP Smart app but when you press the share button, you will see the HP smart app right below the Apple print line. It prints the photo - not as many choices but still handy.

I am using an HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276nw. I also have an HP LaserJet color MFP M182nw and able to use Apple AirPrint with this printer with iPhoto. It's about three years newer than the other one...

I can’t tell from the HP website whether there’s a firmware update available for that printer.

Various of the HP printers have a web administration interface, or a front panel update. If this one does, access it via Safari, and see if it can check for and then perform a firmware update.

Otherwise, you might have to use that HP Easy Admin tool, or some other HP app, to check the firmware.

I see some references that the last firmware updates for this printer were from ~2012. Given the age, it’s also possible some part of the printer has failed.

One thing I’ve seen mess up AirPrint printing are expired self-generated certificates, and that can mean performing a reset or network reset on the printer to generate a new self-signed certificate, and removing and re-adding the printer on any clients if needed. But that should not effect only photos.

But if y’all are printing photos fine to other printers, it’s probably something with this printer.

The last HP printer rolled out of here a while back, so I’m less than current.

Thank you for the information. Yes, there is an update for that printer and, no, didn't help; however, here's another part of the conundrum which I failed to address in my first post. Apple laptops new and old via iPhoto print seamlessly on the "old" HP printer. So, there is nothing wrong with AirPrint on this HP printer. And you're correct regarding the old certificate, which I updated and the certificate now shows an expiration of 2027 but no AirPrint from the iPhone 14 Pro!
