How to update iOS 17 after the partial setup and restore data from iTunes

“this iphone is already partially set up” this could affect the security of your device. Would you like to erase the partial set up and start over or continue with the existing set up? …….

When setting up my iPhone from a manual restore from iTunes update and restore I received this message in set up prompt screen. Not sure how to proceed which is best option as I don’t want to loose my data after a restore.

I think they don't want us to use iTunes for Windows anymore. This happens to me in all my devices since ios 17.2 when i perform a clean install and the device is connected to iTunes via my PC (Windows 11).

Got the same issue. Resolved it by following the steps below:

Un-assign the device from any MDM (under ABM or ASM)
Re-assign the device to the required MDM
Re-Sync the Profile of your DEP from the MDM server
Erase the device.

We had a device with this issue today. This resolved the issue for us too.

Same but even after erased and starting over it still comes up. It’s stuck on this loop.

I'm getting this message on my iPad 7th after restoring to iOS 17.5 without restoring my backups. Is it safe to proceed?
