Deleted Mail Alias still gets mail
I deleted the Alias well over month ago but still get emails (mostly Junk from Mail servers) to that email address.
The old Alias is gone from my Mail Aliases

An Alias just points to the Original account, so someone sending to "youralias@someserver.com" will lookup the list of aliases linked to you "it's reallyme@someserver.com" & send it to "it's reallyme@someserver.com", but fil the To: field with "youralias@someserver.com".
I imagine you'd have to edit it on the Server somehow...
Create or change an alias
Thanks. I’ve done all that. Used aliases a lot over the years. It isn’t there any longer. I set it up several decades ago and deleted it a couple of months ago.
it interesting that If I send an email to that account I get a notice that it doesn’t exist, but I still get junk mail to it as well as a few old online places I have used. All mass mailings.
I've had this problem for a few years now with a deleted alias. I can send email to the alias from my other email account and it goes through every time. I've called apple several times about it and each time they say they are looking into it but it never gets resolved.
Hackers know how to get it by...
They're likely using a BCC: list besides the To: form.
Yeah, still wonder why servers pass it on. If I send it as main or bcc it won’t go through to any of the addressees.
