Syncing apps between iPhone and iPad

Signed on with same Apple ID, done steps suggested, not all apps appear in the section where you can toggle on or off, so now do I sync these apps?

iPhone 11, iOS 17

I thought I had found a way previously so I went out of iCloud menu to main settings menu and then clicked on App Store. That is where I found “Automatically install free and paid apps purchased on other devices”

You download missing apps from the App Store. Note that not all apps support both iPhone and iPad, some that do have different versions for the 2 platforms (and possibly different prices). The ones that do have compatible versions will have a “cloud” download icon instead of GET or a cost button.

Ah, so it is the content that isn’t syncing. On both devices go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud and turn on the switches for the apps that you want to sync between devices.

If the apps in question store data on an external server you will have to log in on each device to connect to the server. You should only have to do this once.
