Is it really impossible to 'protect' a keynote file in 2024?

I want to deliver a Keynote file, so they can view it including the embedded videos, sound effects, animations and transitions. But I don't want them to be able to edit the file. This seems like a pretty obvious feature - but I'm now reading it might not be possible.

I understand I can 'lock' it. But just one click un-locks it.

I understand I can add a password - but I have to give them the password to view it (correct?)

I did a little research before I started the doc - and read it could be 'locked'. I only now realise that's super easy to un-lock. I've spent several months creating a 200+ slide document :(

I cannot believe (and I'm shocked) to read it might not be possible to protect a keynote file - so I can't send it out.

Any ideas?
