HomePod mini stuck in downloading 17.2

Hi,

I got today a new HomePod mini, checked the serial number on apple page and it is legit.

the setup looked fine until it said that I had to wait for the firmware update 17.2.

ive waited and waited, and nothing; I got the HomePod mini and my phone in the same room as the router, reset the HomePod multiple times, but still nothing. Tried again updating it with my iPad, and still nothing.

on the home page it says “WiFi not connected” BUT I can stream music and if I ask Siri random questions, it works fine.

I am getting frustrated now.

:(

any idea?

thanks in advance!

Hi there

So I have a HomePod Mini too !

You have to have an iPhone with iOS 16.3 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 16.3 or later to set up HomePod (2nd generation).

Also you can:

Turn automatic HomePod software updates on or off

  1. In the Home app on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap , then tap Home Settings.
  2. Tap Software Update, then turn on Install Updates Automatically.

thanks!
