Opening books and PDfs on iPad

Since my iPad was updated a few days ago I can't open the books that I have paid for in the Books app on iPad. I also can't open the PDFs in my iPad.

I can see the covers but when I click on them nothing happens

Please note that I can still open books on my iPhone.

I have tried restarting and resetting but nothing has worked

Can anyone advise what to do
